For this game the birthday child is to choose who is to be the sheep, and another to be the hyena. All the other players form a circle, the sheep goes into the center of the circle. The Hyena stays outside the circle then the players move around in a circle.

They try to stay close to each other so that the hyena can't enter the circle to tag the sheep. When the hyena enters the circle he or she then becomes the sheep. Then another player is chosen as the Hyena. The end of the game is once all players have had a turn at being the Hyena.
